JOB SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES

The POND Program Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation, implementation and success of one∙n∙ten’s POND housing and workforce programs, including evaluating programs, ensuring best practice, and supporting program expansion. POND Housing is a supportive Rapid Re-Housing program designed to provide short term housing solutions for LGBTQ+ and allied youth experiencing homelessness, helping them develop the skills necessary to successfully transition to independent living. The POND Workforce program is designed to assist LGBTQ+ and allied youth in gaining the skills necessary to successfully gain employment with employers that support and affirm their identities. The role manages and supports the Housing and Workforce Navigation Specialists, to ensure continued success of the programs. This role requires the POND Program Manager to excel in working both independently and with a team, building strategic partnerships and having excellent communication skills. The support and development of one∙n∙ten youth and young adults requires the POND Program Manager to have experience working with youth experiencing homelessness, a trauma informed care approach and clear, consistent boundaries.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the POND Housing and Workforce programs. Work collaboratively with the Deputy Director and POND Specialists to conceptualize and deliver resilience-based programs that support Arizona youth and ensure strategic alignment with annual budget and program goals.
  • Manage and oversee development of youth participants in the POND Housing program, including supporting Specialists in coaching youth to meet their action plans to successfully complete the program and transition to independent living
  • Manage and oversee development of youth participants in the POND Workforce program, including developing curriculum, building partnerships and supporting Specialists in coaching youth to meet their action plans to successfully complete the program
  • Supervise, train and coach full time POND program staff in the successful delivery of The ability to supervise in-person, remotely & with various forms of technology is required
  • Provide extended support to POND Navigators, which may include conducting intakes, assisting with housing referrals, facilitating programs or meetings with youth, organizing transportation,

The POND Housing program is a supportive Rapid Re-Housing program designed to provide short term housing solutions for LGBTQ+ and allied youth experiencing homelessness, helping them develop the skills necessary to successfully transition to independent living. The Housing Navigation Specialist is a part of the POND team. This role is responsible for completing enrollments for youth entering the program, working with community partners in housing, and coaching youth to develop and complete their action plans to ultimately reach a positive housing outcome within 6 months to 1 year. Youth experiencing homelessness frequent the one•n•ten Youth Center for resources navigation. The Housing Navigation Specialist offices out of the one·n·ten Youth Center and often travels to local sites where one•n•ten youth are housed. The Housing Navigation Specialist works 2 evenings per week out of the youth center, supporting general programming and offering resources, which may include referrals for job training, support in developing life skills, transportation assistance, connection to resources, and more.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Plan and oversee development of youth participants in the POND Housing program, including coaching youth to develop and meet the goals of their action plans to successfully complete the program and transition to independent living

one•n•ten is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving and assisting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth ages 14 to 24. From weekly discussion groups to fun, social networking events, we create a safe space, mentally and physically, for youth of all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. We also offer resources to promote healthy choices and living.

Youth with particular needs have the option to speak with peers or volunteers one-on-one, in a supervised setting. We provide youth with a variety of tools and opportunities to improve self-esteem and self-acceptance.

JOB SUMMARY: The Queen Creek Satellite Program Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing one•n•ten’s positive youth development programming one night per week. one•n•ten satellite programs offer safe spaces, community building, and innovative programming for LGBTQ+ & allied youth. The Queen Creek satellite site meets Tuesdays from 7-8:30.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Plan and oversee weekly program and activities that support positive youth development outcomes for youth 12-24 years old

Lead age-appropriate group activities, including those emphasizing education, safety, LGBTQ+ community building, healthy choices, and community engagement

Establish and enforce safe-space guidelines consistent with organizational goals/mission

Demonstrate leadership to ensure appropriate conduct, risk management and development of participants

Actively recruit new youth participants utilizing in person and online outreach

Evaluate programs on a continual basis to ensure programs/activities are relevant and meet the needs and interests of the participants.

Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements and any problems/issues

Purchase supplies and snacks in accordance with approved budget

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Knowledge of one•n•ten programs, services, and events

Exemplary verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail

Able to motivate others; oversee youth participants and weekly volunteers

TRAVEL: Ability & willingness to drive your own reliable vehicle to travel to various satellite site locations.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED

Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Experience working with teens and young adults

Current CPR & First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain
