Become a Volunteer

Donating your time as a volunteer is the greatest gift you can give to our youth. Here are details about getting involved with one•n•ten.

Examples of opportunities

You can give back by volunteering one-on-one or serving on committees to help plan an event or help raise money for our programs. Opportunities include:

We seek weekly program volunteers for our Youth Center and Satellites in Central Phoenix, Mesa, Glendale, Tempe, Scottsdale, and Queen Creek. We ask our weekly program volunteers to commit to volunteering for at least 6 months, with the ability to attend group once a bi-weekly for 2-4 hours.

Our beloved Youth Center is actively used. That’s why every week we need a couple of volunteers to come in and sort through our donations, make note of essentials that we need, communicate needs to staff, cook and clean as necessary.

Are you a yoga instructor? An artist? And Organizer? Culinary expert? We are always looking for special guests to come into our programs to conduct short classes and program presentations at our Youth Center, Satellites, POND Housing program, and other special groups.

Work behind the scene with staff and youth to support, plan, and coordinate special one•n•ten events such as Queermas, Queer Prom, Fall Feast, AIDS Walk, and more!

All volunteers that work with youth must:

  • Pass a background check (one•n•ten covers this cost) or hold a fingerprint clearance card.
  • Must be at least 25-years-old
  • Former one•n•ten youth are eligible to apply at the age of 26 or older
  • Youth Center volunteers must attend one•n•ten’s Volunteer Training, which are offered quarterly.

How to apply to  become a volunteer:
This application is specifically for volunteers who will be working directly with youth on a consistent basis. If you are interested in volunteering for a special event, working on a committee or the board, or behind the scenes, please end the online application and email directly with a description of your volunteer interests.
