Promise Of a New Day (POND) Programs

Housing Navigation Services:

one•n•ten provides housing navigation services for youth who are at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, navigation services are provided by appointment only, primarily digitally. Services include:

  • Support through resource navigation from our Housing Specialist
  • Connection to shelters and housing programs in the community
  • Homeless court navigation
  • Connection to agencies who offer mental health services & SMI evaluations
  • Assistance with POND Supportive Housing application, when available 
  • For connection to homeless navigation services please contact Levi@onenten.org; for connection to resources, including one•n•ten’s Tuesday Resource Night, where youth can access free food, hygiene supplies, clothing and more (contact Gina@onenten.org or call 602.279.0894 to make an appointment)

 

The below listed assistance usually provided at the Youth Center, is currently paused due to COVID-19. We anticipate offering these services again when the Youth Center re-opens.

          1. Hot & cold meal packs
          2. Access to shower, toiletries, & clothing
          3. Crews‘n Healthmobile on Tuesdays (medical, vision, HIV/STI testing)
          4. Dental services through Brighter Way Dental
          5. City of Phoenix Summer Heat relief site
          6. AHCCCS assistance

Workforce Navigation:

one•n•ten’s POND workforce program helps LGBTQ+ and allied youth, ages 16 to 24, build skills and gain confidence to move into the workforce and prepare for employment with companies, whom value and celebrate their unique identities. Youth participants work together with one•n•ten’s Workforce Navigation Specialist, to develop an individualized employment journey map and receive ongoing support and coaching throughout the cohort based program. 

Topics covered include: 

  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Financial literacy and health
  • Post-secondary opportunities
  • Job search and resume writing
  • Interview skills
  • Workplace rights, employment success strategies and more

The POND Workforce program also hosts job fairs, shares information on LGBTQ+ inclusive companies and may offer additional employment navigation services. The POND Workforce program is currently being facilitated digitally, via Zoom.
