Trans one·n·tenUPDATED:

Group is from 10AM to 12PM on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month.

Sunday, September 24th is the next group.

Mission: To provide youth with resources for what may come through gender expression or gender transition.  To provide a safe space to achieve their own transition or gender identities and create acceptance of themselves and tolerance of others.

The one·n·ten Trans* Group is run by staff and volunteers that embrace the Trans* umbrella, pangender, cisgender allies, MTF, and non-conforming-gender adult volunteers. Collectively the volunteers are focused on empowering the youth and the future community through programs of basic life-changing skills, advocating for youth to understand different ways to educate themselves and others. The programming focuses on providing a base education and emphasizes the fact that being Trans* is a part of nature and there is nothing wrong with fitting anywhere along the Trans* spectrum.

Social trials and conflicts of being Trans* can be a struggle.  The one·n·ten Trans* Group offers a safe space for youth to embrace their gender identity in a non-gendered, non-gender-conforming atmosphere.  We embrace the facts that there are many different ways for each individual to transition.  We encourage each youth to find their own comfort level regarding their gender identity and to discover their own path on their transition journey.  All of the programming is driven by the youths’ ideas and needs that are voiced.

Programming includes activities such as: interactive games, art projects, field trips, leadership skills, safe social and life skills, and tools to set up their future such as applying for college or jobs.  Staff and adult volunteers support the youth and give them tools to create their own structure of community with each other, teaching them to build a strong and compassionate future for themselves.  It is through these ideals, programming, and leadership one·n·ten Trans* Group hopes to bring stronger bonds in family and communities and a safe and strong mindset for the youth that the world still holds many opportunities for them.
