Prevention Coordinator
Stacey Jay Cavaliere is very proud to be a part of the 1n10 family. He is currently taking classes at Rio Salado College and will soon transfer to Arizona State University to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology. Stacey Jay has worked with youth for over 15 years in various capacities including before & after school and summer camp programs with the City of Peoria Recreation Department, Boys & Girls Club of America, and participating as an Anytown camp counselor. He also is a proud alumni of the AmeriCorps *NCCC program, where he traveled the country for two years completing a variety of community service projects including, but not limited to, enrolling low income families for free health care, working in a veteran’s hospital, fighting wild forest fires, and aiding in disaster relief efforts in Miami, New Orleans, and Puerto Rico.Prior to joining the 1n10 staff, he served as a dedicated volunteer for almost 2 ½ years, implementing the Summer Workforce Development Program and attending the OUTdoors Youth Leadership Camp as a counselor. While volunteering he worked as a highly qualified Special Education Paraprofessional & Academic Advisor for the Leona Group School District.
Stacey Jay now serves as the Prevention Coordinator for 1n10. In this multi-faceted position, he will provide exciting and educational programming for the East Valley 1n10 group, assist at both the Central Phoenix & West Valley locations, and at the Youth Empowerment Project house. He is also involved in implementing a valuable suicide prevention & awareness campaign at both 1n10, and for youth around the Valley of the Sun.In his spare time Stacey Jay enjoys hiking, attending music and arts events, and spending valuable time with his English Bulldog Buddha. He also is a feature writer for Echo Magazine, Arizona’s premiere LGBT news source. Stacey Jay is thrilled to be involved with 1n10 and considers it a blessing to be a part of such an amazing organization.
