QBLC

QBLC opened in March of 2012 to provide LGBTQ and Straight Allied Youth a welcoming and safe space to earn their high school diploma. QBLC is a partnership with Arizona Virtual Academy, a public online charter school.

QBLC gives students the opportunity to earn their high school diploma. The plan is designed to organize and properly sequence each student’s coursework while helping articulate his or her academic strengths and weaknesses.

QBLC offers Math, English, Science, and History in multiple versions- Core, Comprehensive, Honors, Advance Placement, Remediation Courses and even Credit Recovery. Students can choose from a variety of electives including Public Speaking, Anthropology, and Green Design and Technology.

Students have two enrollment options. The first follows a traditional semester schedule with youth enrolled in six online classes. The other options, allows students to enroll in the block schedule where they take three classes every nine weeks. All textbooks and classes are 100% online.

Interested students must meet with the program’s Site Director Dreametta Campbell to review their individual academic and career goals, tour the one•n•ten Youth Center and discus the online learning community before starting the application process.

To Enroll: Go here to create a guardian account to enroll your child in K12. They have two online schools in which to enroll their child: Arizona Virtual Academy (AZVA) or Insight Academy of Arizona (ISAZ). Once enrolled, they can have the option of attending the QBLC during the day to complete their coursework. Then email Dreametta Campbell, QBLC via email dcampbell@k12.com to set up an appointment to learn more and schedule your tour.
