Deputy Director
Micheal Weakley is a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN and Mid-Sweden University in Sundsvall, Sweden (B.S. Communication: Public Relations, President of PRSSA, IABC). Prior to joining one n ten, Micheal worked as an Mpowerment Coordinator at the Alternative, an AIDS Project Arizona program, which offered HIV prevention for gay men 18-29. Micheal has been active in the non-profit field and gay community for over ten years and has worked on various projects. Some of these projects include AIDS Walk Arizona, Common Ground: New Orleans Relief Project, World AIDS Day, and the Campaign for International Equality. Micheal has been featured on the cover of both Echo and IONAZ magazine for his commitment to empowering LGBTQ youth in Arizona.
Micheal’s responsibilities as Deputy Director at one n ten include the development and management of daily programs, the LGBTQ Youth Conference, and Rebel YELL: Arts Music and Activism, along with many other special events monthly. Micheal is one of three managers of our CDC funded collaboration among Southwest Center for HIV and AIDS, Native Health and Pima Prevention called the Youth Empowerment Program, which is an HIV prevention program designed for young gay and transgender youth.
