Elaina Medina

Originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico Elaina is new to the Phoenix area but couldn’t be happier with her new home and school. Elaina was born and raised in New Mexico and graduated in December with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from New Mexico State University. While attending New Mexico State she worked as an Aggie Ambassador in the university’s Admissions office. As an Ambassador she worked closely with new and incoming students of all ages, working directly with students and their families in adjusting and preparing for a positive university experience at NMSU. Outreach was also a large part of her work at NMSU. Attending various community and educational events throughout Las Cruces and the greater region created a desire and passion for helping people of various backgrounds achieve goals in higher education. After graduating she continued to pursue her personal and educational goals by focusing on graduate school. Currently working on a Masters in Social Work at Arizona State University she hopes to graduate and begin her future with a focus on Community and Policy social work here in Arizona or wherever there wind blows her.

In her spare time she loves to spend good old fashion quality time with her friends and family. Elaina has a passion for outdoor adventures, travel books, cartoons, old school hip hop, soul, and jazz music, and of course the pursuit of social justice. She is overwhelmed with joy to be a part of an organization like one n ten and expects to take valuable lessons from every experience.
